Η μερική έκλειψη σαγήνευσε πολλούς -κάποιοι πήγαν ως τουρίστες στην Ισπανία ειδικά για να απολαύσουν το θέαμα.
Στην Ελλάδα η έκλειψη ήταν ελάχιστα ορατή και μόνο ως μερική σε περιοχές της βορειοδυτικής χώρας, όπως η Κέρκυρα (κάλυψη 2,34%), η Ηγουμενίτσα (1,29%), η Κόνιτσα, η Καστοριά και η Φλώρινα. Η κάλυψη του ηλιακού δίσκου, σχεδόν ταυτόχρονα με τη δύση του Ηλίου (περίπου στις 20:30), ήταν πολύ μικρή και δύσκολα αντιληπτή. Μπορούμε όμως να δούμε τα πεφταστέρια από τα μεσάνυχτα μέχρι τις 05:00 τα χαράματα. Η συχνότητα των μετεώρων αυξάνεται σημαντικά όσο προχωρά η νύχτα και ο αστερισμός του Περσέα ανεβαίνει ψηλά στον ουρανό.
Στην Ισλανδία το φαινόμενο της έκλειψης ήταν ορατό στο 100% περίπου στις 20:45 (ώρα Ελλάδας) και στην Ισπανία περίπου στις 21:30 (τοπική ώρα 20:30). Φωτογραφίες από την Ελβετία, την Πορτογαλία και την Τσεχία.
